Introduction

As part of Prime Minister’s vision of creating jobs for the youth, the Government introduced Prime Minister’s ‘Kamyab Jawan – Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme’ (YES) for provision of subsidized business financing. This program has been developed with an aim to create more job opportunities and provide means for young people to be successful in their chosen career paths and to encourage SME growth.

Salient Features of YES

Purpose	Setting up a New Business Expansion of Existing Business
Maximum financing limit	Tier 1: The range is PKR 100,000 upto PKR 1.0 million Tier 2: The range is above PKR 1.0 million upto PKR 10 million Tier 3: The range is above PKR 10 million upto 25 million
Types of Financing	All types of Islamic long/short term financing.
>Maximum Tenor	Upto 8 years (including maximum grace period of 1 year)
Eligibility Criteria	i. All men/women holding CNIC, aged between 21 and 45 years with entrepreneurial potential are eligible. ii. Small and medium enterprises (startups and existing businesses) as per definition of SBP and owned by youth as per above mentioned age brackets are also eligible. (For IT/ E-Commerce related businesses, the lower age limit will be 18 years having at least matriculation or equivalent education will be required). This scheme is only for resident Pakistanis.
Pricing	Tier-1: 3% per annum Tier-2: 4% per annum Tier-3: 5% per annum
Security/collateral required	Tier 1: Clean, however personal guarantee of the borrower shall be obtained. Tier 2 & 3: Security/collateral will be required as per Faysal Bank’s internal policy.
Repayment	Loan can be repaid in equal monthly, quarterly, bi-annually or annually installments.
Equity contribution by customer	§ For New Businesses: T1: 10% T2 & T3: 20% § For Existing Businesses: Nil for all tiers The borrower’s contribution of equity would be in the form of cash or immovable property.
Sectors	All sectors including agriculture.
Quota Allocation	25% of the loans will be sanctioned to women borrowers.
Loan processing fee	Non-refundable processing fee will be PKR 100/- Other charges: Actual.
This scheme is not allowed to:	Non-Resident Pakistanis Government Employees
