National Financial Literacy Program

Category

Pakistan has the third-largest unbanked adult population, with about 100 million adults lacking bank accounts. Recognizing the need for economic inclusivity, the State Bank of Pakistan took the lead and launched the National Financial Literacy Program (NFLP) in 2017. Faysal Bank gained the honor of becoming a significant collaborative partner and has made headway into unbanked communities through Classroom Training Sessions as well as Street Theatre.

After running NFLP-I successfully over a period of five years and realizing the ongoing need for financial inclusion in Pakistan, the NFLP Steering Committee launched NFLP-II for the next five years (2023 to 2027). Concepts of budgeting, savings and investments are part of this program, focusing on 50% of female attendees

Faysal Bank has embarked on a strategic initiative to address financial exclusion in Pakistan, a challenge that affects 53% of the country's adult population, according to the State Bank of Pakistan. Our approach is tailored to Pakistan's unique landscape, where financial exclusion is often voluntary due to low financial literacy and concerns about interest-based transactions.
