1. What are Government Securities?

There are mainly three types of securities that are offered by the Government of Pakistan

T-Bills are negotiable, discounted and highly liquid instruments of Government of Pakistan.

T-Bills have a maturity of 3 months, 6 months and 1 year

PIBs are marketable securities with the maturity period of three, five, ten and twenty years. Profit on these bonds is paid through fixed & semi- annually coupons

Sukuk are asset backed, stable income, tradeable and Shariah compatible trust certificates. Profit is paid through floating and semi-annual coupons

Are the rates offered on Faysal – Self Invest market competitive?

The rates are based on Pakistan Revaluation rates known as PKRV which is average of the yield to maturity on government securities traded in the secondary market and determined at the end of day by SBP.

2. What is IPS account?

IPS accounts enable customers to maintain custody of their Pak Rupee Government securities with banks.

3. How to generate IPS account?

Investors Portfolio Securities account can be instantly generated by Faysal Bank customers via Faysal – Self Invest.

Steps:

  1. Login to your Faysal digibank Internet Banking via Faysal Bank website at https://mobit.faysalbank.com
  2. Click on Faysal – Self Invest tab and click Create IPS account.
  3. Agree to the term & conditions and save. IPS account will be opened.

4. Can I create more than one IPS account?

Yes, IPS account can be created against each Current account/ Saving account.

5. Can I transfer my instruments held in my IPS account to other people’s IPS accounts with my Faysal –     Self Invest?

No, instrument can only be held in own IPS and can only be liquidated in the CASA account tagged against the IPS account.

6. What are the transaction limits customers can perform on Faysal – Self Invest?

T-Bills – Minimum Transaction limit is 5,000/- and multiple of 5,000/-
PIBs – Minimum Transaction limit 100,000/- and multiple of 100,000/-
Sukuk – Minimum Transaction limit is 100,000/- and multiple of 100,000/-

7. What are the Fee & Charges of Faysal – Self Invest?

As per Bank’s Schedule of Charges which currently are Pak Rupee 500/- per transaction plus applicable fed.

8. What will be the tax implications on Funds invested in Government Securities?

Withholding Tax will be deducted at source as per the existing law and will be borne by the bearer of the securities.

9. How can I check transaction details for my Faysal – Self Invest?

You can always log into Faysal digibank Internet Banking and check the details of transactions being performed in “My IPS Activity”

10. Can I view the statement of my IPS accounts?

Yes, detailed IPS account statement can be viewed in Accounts Overview
